We are the initiators of the Hiatus ready- to- wear research department. We intervene for individuals or professionals throughout the idea and the conception of male and fmale garments dedicated to the ready-to-wear market, that is to say garments that must be designed precisely in order to be producible in series.
We are both fashion designers, model makers, pattern makers, and this brings a completeability and an adapted study to each profiles.
We work together on commons projects but we have a different and complementary approach on concepts and technics. In parallel, we devellop our owns ready-to-wear models : a biological line Hiatus, the jeanguyetco line and the latter one : skirts for men.
Beyond the idea of skirts, we wanted to devellop innovating projects. Our creative and technical capabilities as those of any creative spirit is often constrained by the light of agreements subject to a public who takes some time to take new bearings. We believe the garment is not only a social symptom, but that it can participate voluntarily in changing attitudes in favor of diversity. We work, since the beginning, on comfortables garments as jellabahs, sarouels or long tunics, in a decontracted spirit. the male wardrobe is very rich in other traditions ; in our spirits, opened garments such as dresses and skirts are still in males wardrobes : For us, all these garments which are considerated as " more feminines" in France or in Europe are a part of an historical memory that is urgent to put back. Men wore skirts for ages, they just forgot it in the past centuries ! After we discovered the association " men in skirt", we joined its members, in a first time as a research department, to show them our services. after few contacts and ideas coming, we offered them a partnership : with a questionnaire, each members of H.E.J has defined when and where he wears skirt, in which area, under which climate, ... We asked them to select things they would like to see on skirts made for men and which elements were useful to wear a skirt in their everyday life. So that they concretely participated to the creation of models and still today we take attention to their critics and advices that bring us to create new models. Thanks to this, we saw the essential points such as passes for belts, pockets for wallet, solid and frame fabrics, to be at ease while walking : from these points we made our skirts for men, then our inconscient with the pen made all !!
There are as many different reactions as there are different individuals or, more generally: as many different reactions as socio-cultural contexts: the majority of the public is now in the acceptance of this contribution into male wardrobe and reminds us a lot of enthusiasm in the absence of real ownership. It is interesting to see that it is often women who ask their husbands to try a skirt on, that is not in the interests of feminise them to gain power over them, but, perhaps, rather to find in the 'modern man the image of the ancient biblical patriarch type or Viking?
The 30 members of HEJ, the 3 billion of other non solicitors!
Virility is not about clothing but of attitude and posture. Go and have a look to our blog (link below), in the line skirts for men, there is no doubt about the masculinity of these models! ![]() ![]()
