Bienvenue chez les ch'tis en jupeMore than17 millions peope went to see the film "bienvenue chez les Ch'tis" from Dany Boon. As a ch'ti by birth and as I went on holiday for a week to my parents' , Caroline and I went to visit the town Bergues which is now nationaly known thanks to the film.

When I told my parents and my brother that I wore skirts about two years ago, my mother asked me not to wear in front of her neighbours and the rest of the family (uncles, aunts, cousins. ..) For fear of "what could they think" " Her words: "I want to spend a quiet retirement." She must think that her life will be disrupted by people who knows about my wearing of skirts. But as it has already been the subject of an article in a national magazine, I would be surprised that there was no one of my knowledge in the North who has read the article.

In short, this is to say that her request does not disturbing me because I only back to my parents twice a year, I left homein trousers with Caroline to go to Bergues with a skirt in the car's bottom. Around Bergues, I changed to put the last skirt that I made (a long skirt with tiles)on. Wearing a skirt outside my area of residence (Limousin) let me see the reaction of people elsewhere.

I parked the car in a car- park in front of the tower then we went towards the main square. In shop windows and bars, there were posters of the film "Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis", we can't miss it. We entered in a press shop and bought postcards and a sticker "Ch'ti and proud to be." We returned to the main square to make photos of the belfry. As Caroline tried to take a photo of me in front of the belfry, a man, aged sixty came to us to propose spontaneously to take the photo himself so that Caroline and I could be both on it. Then we discussed about the film and he told us where to find the key places of the film and we went to see:

- The Belfry .

-- The place where the new post office Director arrived (Kad Merad) and knocked down the Postman (Dany Boon).

-- The terrace of the pub on which the Director fell and was arrested by policemen.

-- The underwears shop where the postman's mother (Line Renaud) and the director met.

-- The channel in which the Director and the postman went peedle after a drink tour .

The Post office is not the one of the film. The man told us that the Post could not stop the work to lend the premises. The film's post office took place temporarily in former premises of EDF.

I regretted that the french fries barrack was not present in the main square of Bergues as in the film. This would have been pleased me to be able to eat a fricadelle- French fries. We went therefore in the restaurant " 3 Brewers " in Dunkerque. I crossed the whole restaurant in skirt to go to the toilets which were at the opposite.

Visible reaction aboutmy skirt from people we met during the day: none.

Some watched my skirt, which is normal, but nothing more. Even a man offered assistance to take the picture.

You see the ban, if it can be called like that, comes mostly from relatives for fear of "what could people think" as from other people.
