To situate, France 3 opened its doors to the public during the Heritage Day. Caroline, the children and I visited these places. Victim of its own success, France 3 Limousin-Poitou-Charentes Limoges had to take the names of those who wished to be recalled for another day of sightseeing. The other day is today. Therefore, we prepare to leave. And of course, I wore a skirt.
I wore a long black sarong-skirt, black boots, grey tank top for man and black vest with pockets . We arrived at the premises. The vigil lets us go after having asked us the purpose of our presence. Veronique Quillet, Information Officer, would guide us agreeably throughout the visit; she received us very well. We were a group of 21 people, including the four of us. Until the moment that everyone arrived, we could look at old cameras, film reels, and so that an employee has lent warmly on display in the lobby of the premises of France 3 Limoges. We were also explained, by Veronique, the replacement of channel Hertzien by TNT. The last group arrived. We were witnessing a presentation by France 3 on a television. For the visit to be exceptional, Veronique proposes us to attend the noon news. Some members have the right to be on the board (places are limited) outside the fields of the cameras of course, and the others in the governed. I intended to go on the shelf while Caroline and the children would go into the governance. So I attended the news on live sat on the edge of the plateau. On the television, we imagine that the board is big, but in reality space is reduced. Only were on the plateau, the journalist, the guest, and 2 cameramen. The journalist reads what she has to say on his notes and on the teleprompter integrated to the camera. The Prompter is, in fact, made of a screen horizontal on the front and under the lens, the text is reflected on a vertical glass in front of the camera. The journalist sees, in front of her, the text which does not appear neither on the camera and nor on the TV screens. And consequently, the journalist always has his eyes fixed on the camera. . During the shorts reports or advertisements the journalist discusses with the director on the time remaining, what can be still said or not, etc., and this through a headset. After the news, the journalist accompanied he guest. While coming towards me, because I was almost in its path to the exit of the plateau, she said hello. Then, the other members of the group, who were in the govern, met us on the board where Veronique continued to tell us about television but also to answer our questions. Then she accompanied us towards the exit of the premises and gives us a 20-page book called "Back 2006 2007" which has all the France 3 broadcastings existing since early September 2006. Veronique also proposed us to contact her by mail later if we have any questions about a program, a point of view to give a disagreement, and so on. I take this opportunity to tell her "and suggest a topic for example..." As I could not find her e-mail address on the book, I went back to her in order to propose the issue of "men wearing skirt" (she has an example in front of her) and to give her the business card of HeJ pointing out that I am the creator. She replied that she would speak her colleagues who are journalists. On this visit, about my wearing of skirts, only one lady had an eye movement to mean "anything". Otherwise nothing. If I had been in pants, it would have been the same. Veronica and others have appreciated our girls, by their being quiet (especially during more than an hour with no thing interesting for them) and their politeness. A very elegant lady has even said that they were very well-educated. Then we went to the restaurant " la pataterie" in the North of Limoges. No visible reaction or comment on my way of being dressed. And now, we are back home and I am typing on my keyboard to write this story.
