On holiday in my family in Calais, Caroline and I have benefited from having someone to look after the children to leave together for three days to Lille, Calais and Bruges.

On the first day, we met another wearer of skirt from Lille, who I know thanks to Internet, but who I had never seen. In the morning, Caroline and I went for a walk in the centre of Lille; I was in a denim skirt below the knees. With Adrian, we went in front of a restaurant, which we visited for lunch. Adrian was in suit jacket and black skirt. He likes to be dressed like that. We talked and ate well and then we went all on our side. Caroline and I continued our walk in Lille and in the evening went to eat in an Irish pub. Then we joined our hotel in Tourcoing. Talking of my clothes, we did not hear any comments or disapproving glance.

On the second day, we travelled to Bruges in Belgium. I had the same clothes as the day before. Caroline and I spent the day walking in the streets of the city. It is a very nice town and I would recommend this destination. As far my clothes are concerned, we only had a few glances and a few smiles, that’s normal when people are not used to see something, but nothing else.

On the third day we went to the Cite de l'Europe in Calais but I had decided to wear trousers.. Not bothered to clarify that there was no comment.
