what is really travesty or travestie?

Thinking about it, and taking example on women (because the woman is the typical example of the largest developments in clothes), there are many women who have :

- Short hair-as a boy

- Never earrings and makeup

- Non-feminine jeans
- Flat shoes or sneakers
- And non-feminine tops in guys style (sweater, T-shirt, etc. )

And yet we do not say "travesties" but rather masculine.

I think the term "transvestite" has lost some of its meaning since the initial evolution of women's fashion, which has expanded to masculine fashion.

However, the term has stuck to the feminine man because fashion has become, unfortunately, very limited and therefore the slightest deviation outside masculinity is seen as the travesty.

I just look in the dictionary the meaning of the words and we (including myself) often do confusion between the words :

- Cross : Action travesty or to travesty; disguise.
- Travesty : disguise with the clothes of another gender, another condition. Transform, all recognition, falsify.
- Travesties : adoption by some subjects with sexual inversion, clothing and social habits of the opposite sex. It is also said Transvestism.

I think that all depends on what is in the head, or rather, the aim we have wearing this feminine garments.

According to these definitions, are travesties those who dress for "being a woman" or "feel as much as possible as a woman."

So those who intend to be feminine without being a  "woman" then it is not travesties. As to say that this is travesty then, I do not think they do it to disguise but by taste or by way of being.

So a man with feminine manners (who still feels like a   "man") is neither travesties nor the travesty. He is feminine, that's all.

And compared with men wearing male skirt which this site speaks about?

- The skirt is not necessarily "feminine",
- And you can be feminine by wearing trousers. Women have been able to show it.

So "Travestism", "Travesty " and "Femininity," it is not necessarily linked with "men in skirts!”
