homme en robe africain - boubou et djellabaThe boubou is a costume worn by both men and women. The one for men is composed of 3 pieces : pants, a long tunic and below the tunic a kind of shirt.

 

 

For women it is a loincloth, a long tunic and a scarf.

 


The boubou is mainly worn in Senegal, Ivory Coast, Mali and Burkina Faso, but it is found throughout Africa.

 


The djellaba (or jillab) is a long garment worn by Muslims to be in accordance with the Koran's principles of modesty . It is a long and comfortable cloth.

 


The djellaba is essentially worn in Northern Africa's countries (Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia.)
