Canoe - Le Journal de Montréal - Éric Yvan Lemay - C'est une question de principe

In Canada, a man was suspended by his employer, a Hospital, for wearing Bermuda shorts at work.

This man has been wearing this garment since 1993 and a new internal dressing code came out last June forced him to abandon this garment.

However, he went on wearing it, he has been suspended. His colleagues, in a gesture of solidarity, have decided to wear bermuda shorts and even kilts. Some were given warnings.

The man in bermuda shorts resigned to follow the new rules by wearing a uniform composed of long trousers .

Jupe-Skirt's comments :

Women have the right to wear trousers or bermuda shorts even shorts with tights, sometimes very short skirts, dress, tunic over tights in almost all places with few exceptions. Men are limited mostly to trousers in their professional places. When such a prohibition to wear a particular garment is made only to one of the two sexs it is sexual discrimination: indeed, women are allowed to adjust their clothes to the weather efficiently but men must remain in uncomfortable clothes in hot weather. It's like asking women to wear a short skirt without tights in winter!

In your opinion, who will work optimally under high heat, a man dressed with long pants, closed shoes with socks, jacket covering his arms, a tie closing the collar, all in fabrics of a certain thickness or woman in a light dress and sandals?

Even if man does not necessarily claim to wear a light dress, the skirt even long + a shirt without tie + opened shoes would be a big step forward respect to man.
